June Log Cabin Round Up

June Log Cabin Round Up

Posted by Sally Bradley on 2nd Jul 2017

As I sit here writing another monthly round up I can't quite believe that we are already half way through the year already.  Find out what our teams have been up to in June in today's blog post that rounds up our most memorable installs and other news from our Log Cabin and Shed show site.

June's lists of installations kicked off with a Dorset 34 summer house, which is a 3.9m by 2.5m pent roof log cabin with 34mm logs by Lasita.  This customer purchased this building alongside our rubber roofing EPDM to offer a premium roof covering for maximum protection.  The great thing about EPDM is it arrives in one sheet cut to your roof size with adhesive meaning that once fitted there are no joins in the roof covering for water to get under.  The customer also purchased Rystix interior and exterior timber treatments for their Dorset 34 log cabin. We would always recommend that customers treat their cabins inside and out to balance out the logs, 3 good coats of Rystix timber treatments will ensure that your log cabin is protected   from water ingress, fungal rot and insect attack for around 7 years before the need to retreat.

You can view an image of the Dorset 34 summerhouse below from a previous install, but be sure to check back with us on the blog in a few weeks once our customer has finished turning their new log cabin into a stunning garden office.

Another memorable install from June was the Windsor Mini log cabin and dual potting shed for a customer local to our Norfolk display site.

New to 2017 the Windsor mini log cabin is  a smaller 3m by 2.5m version of our 4m by 3m Windsor Log Cabin which is currently on sale for a limited time.  The Windsor Mini features the stylish clock house design feature and has already proving its popularity amongst our customers looking for a smaller log cabin in their back garden.

As this customer wanting their log cabin to relax in and enjoy their garden and the fruits of their potting shed labour they opted to purchase an additional single window to really get the best view.  Nearly all of our log cabins come with a variety of optional extras from windows, to solar lighting, guttering and upgraded lockable window handles.  You can find a list of the optional extras available on the cabins individual product page, or give the team a call and we would be happy to help you.

With a keen interest in gardening alongside the Windsor Mini Log Cabin this customer also purchased a dual potting shed from Albany.  All our Albany garden sheds, potting sheds, play houses and pet housing come with a pre-treatment spray of Albany brown to offer the wood protection from the elements as soon as it's delivered.  We do recommend that with all sheds and log cabins purchased with a pre-treatment that they are re-treated within a year.  This customer opted just to get the job done all at once by our log cabin installation team who treated the potting shed in 3 coats of Langlow timber treatment in Golden Chestnut.

To treat the Windsor mini the customer went for premium colour mix Rystix in pastel green with the frames and trims in cream which was also completed by the team.  I'm sure you'll agree the end result is stunning.

June also saw a total garden transformation for one customer who purchased a Devon 7ft x 7ft Summerhouse  ProBase for the Devon Summerhouse and a Suffolk 6ft x 4ft Shed also with ProBase, and finished up with a brand new pathway.  Patios, paths, fencing and base work are just a few of the extra services our teams can carry out for you so if the state of your garden is putting you off from buying just yet, give the team a call and let us work our magic just like we did for this customer.

The 28th and 29th of June was also the date of this years Norfolk show and we were their both days in the Buy Norfolk marquee with a few of our displays models and lots of brochures.  You will get a full run down on the Norfolk show later on in the week but despite the rain it was a well attended event and we spoke to many potential customers about their log cabin needs.

June also saw some fabulous feedback from a couple of customers.  One had brought a Carlisle 3.5m by 3m log cabin as an ex display model at the end of last year.  The glorious weather over the last few weeks has meant they could finally give the log cabin a fresh coat of treatment and get it finished along with the rest of the garden.  This customer is using their Carlisle as a home gym complete with exercise bike treadmill and a nice comfy sofa to collapse in.

Another customer had this to say about their Oban Corner log cabin:

"We are really pleased with the Oban cabin as it is the perfect size for our small garden.

We have been making good use of it in the cold winter weather, the extra insulation plus a small fan heater soon make and keep it very warm, but are looking forward to using it more in the summer.

We were very impressed by the service we received from Cabins Unlimited, from the initial response to our enquiry with a quote from Vicky, all the help and questions answered by Michael and finally from Rob and his team when they came to install the base and cabin.

Thank you all very much."

It's always great to end on a positive note so I think  that is where I will wrap up Junes Log Cabin round up.  July sees us with a full install diary already, the winner of our competition will see their new summerhouse arrive, the children keen for the end of school and you can come and see us at the Dereham Carnival July 16th.  Follow us  on our Facebook page for all our latest news.
