Site Surveys – Advise when Planning your Garden Cabin or Summerhouse

When considering fitting the base yourself you will need to bear in mind which product you wish to use.

Which Base Type do you wish to use?

ProBase is our recommended choice and there are a number of benefits to choosing this method

The grids are easy to move and work with, making them a better solution than heavy and expensive concrete. They can also be moved or removed should the building need to be moved.

Will the base area be large enough for your building?

Once you have decided on where your Cabin/Summerhouse is to be located, measure accurately the maxium area you have available. Please ensure the overhang and height of the building is taken into consideration, the proximity of other buildings and/or boundaries should also be taken into account. Look around and see if you have any trees or bushes that will need to be cut back or removed.

Is the base area perfectly firm and level in all directions?

If we are fitting the base for you, the area will need to be level before the ProBase tiles and shingle can be fitted – please let us know if your area is not level or if there will be any obstructions, this is very important so that there are no delays on the day of installation.

Are there any Access issues?

Can a large delivery lorry park outside the front of your driveway? (Our lorries are roughly the same size as a Bin Lorry).  Deliveries of our Log Cabins are made via Hi-ab Crane or Moffett/Forklift and they will off-loaded directly onto your driveway, sometimes a few days or a week before your building is installed. On some occasions optional extra materials will arrive with the building however some may arrive with a separate courier on different dates. The materials will then be moved into your garden by whoever is installing the building.

How much parking space is available at your property during the installation?

Our couriers require roughly 6m x 2m worth of space for your building to be delivered onto, approximately the enough to be able to park 2 cars.
