Cabins Unlimited have completed hundreds of Log Cabin installs, all over the UK. We understand that while you are looking to invest in a Log Cabin, you may be thinking about installing the building yourself so below, Cabins Unlimited have developed a selection of useful videos all to help with any parts of the install and also delivery of the cabin that you may need some useful tips on.
Planning your eaves wall
When a log cabin is built, occasionally the eaves wall can end up slightly higher than the side walls. This means that the roof boards will not fit flat onto the roof and raise slightly above the eaves causing a gap to appear. There is a simple solution and this video will show you how to remedy this very common problem.
How delivery of your log cabin is made
Customers like to see how our log cabins from Cabins Unlimited are delivered so this is a short video to show the crane offload we offer included with all our cabins, summerhouses, garden buildings and hot tub cabins. Customers once they have ordered will be contacted by the delivery company a week or so before delivery to arrange a suitable delivery date with the customer.
How to cut in and fit an additional window in your log cabin
At cabins unlimited we offer our expert advice on how to install your log cabin and this video shows you how to cut in an additional window when either building a log cabin or after building it.
How to fit felt shingle tiles
In this video you will find some advice on how to fit our roof Felt Shingle Tiles. We recommend the use of these tiles on all Apex and Hipped roof buildings that we have available, with a life of around 25 years when applied correctly.
How to change a latch direction
Here is a tutorial video of how to change the latch on all of our buildings when it is the incorrect way round - a very simple fix.
Plastic Base Systems
ProBase is an interlocking plastic, super strong base system for use with log cabins, sheds, timber buildings, pathways, driveways and other applications.
ProBASE is a simple and reliable system where a firm level base is required and can be used on its own or with a gravel filling. The kit is very simple to use and comes supplied with a weed control membrane, 50cm x 50cm x 4cm injection moulded tiles made from recycled plastic and the pins required to lock them together. Once built is one of the strongest grid bases available which has been thoroughly tested both in the laboratory and field tests for its strength and durability. Tests have shown a crush rate of 190 tonnes per square metre and have modular cells to maximise strength and increase air flow and drainage. The cells also act to hold shingle should you require. The kits are delivered separately to a log cabin or shed ordered from us and can be ordered on their own if required.
