Supporting Banham Zoo and the Zoological Society of East Anglia

At Cabins Unlimited, we believe that timber buildings should do more than simply add space — they should help bring people together, support communities and create places where great experiences can happen.

That’s why we’re proud to be partnering with the Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA) to support their work at Banham Zoo in Norfolk.

Through this partnership, Cabins Unlimited is providing a series of timber cabins that will help the zoo create welcoming spaces for community engagement, special events and educational activities.

Working with the Zoological Society of East Anglia

The Zoological Society of East Anglia is a conservation and education charity that operates both Banham Zoo and Africa Alive Zoological Reserve. Their work focuses on protecting endangered species, supporting wildlife conservation projects and helping people connect with the natural world.

Banham Zoo has been part of the Norfolk community for many years, welcoming thousands of visitors annually and playing an important role in wildlife education, conservation awareness and family experiences.

As a Norfolk-based business ourselves, Cabins Unlimited is delighted to support an organisation whose work has such a positive impact on our local community and beyond.

Creating Spaces for Community and Events

As part of the partnership, Cabins Unlimited has initially supplied three timber cabins to Banham Zoo.

These buildings will be used as flexible community spaces, helping the zoo host:

Educational activities and workshops
Community engagement programmes
Special events and seasonal experiences
Visitor activities throughout the year

Timber buildings are particularly well suited to these environments, offering warm, welcoming spaces that blend naturally into the landscape while providing practical and versatile accommodation.

A Future Multi-Purpose Event Space

In addition to the three cabins being installed now, Cabins Unlimited will later supply a larger, permanent timber cabin which will serve as a multi-purpose event space at Banham Zoo.

This building will provide a dedicated venue for a wide range of activities, helping the zoo expand its ability to host:

Community events
Educational sessions
Private functions
Group activities and celebrations

By creating a flexible indoor space within the zoo environment, the building will allow Banham Zoo to welcome visitors and community groups throughout the year.
