A new timber building is something to enjoy, whether it is a garden office, summerhouse, sauna, workshop, hobby room, garden bar, or everyday storage space. Once installed, it becomes part of your garden and part of your routine, so it is important that the doors and windows continue to open, close, and seal as they should.
Because timber is a natural material, it responds to the environment around it. Seasonal changes in temperature and humidity can cause small amounts of expansion and contraction. Moisture levels, weather conditions, and the natural settling of a newly installed building can also affect the way windows, doors, catches, bolts, and hinges operate.
This is not unusual. In fact, during the first year, many timber buildings go through what we like to call a “wear-in” period. The building settles, the timber acclimatises, and the joinery may need small adjustments along the way. Our Timber Building Support Package has been created to make that process simpler, smoother, and more reassuring for our customers.
