How To Enjoy Your Log Cabin In The Winter

7th Nov 2022

Many people associate garden buildings such as log cabins or summerhouses with being just for the summer months. While yes, it does get very dark early in winter and yes, it can be cold, wet and miserable, actually, compared to many other countries we have it pretty easy; our weather isn't extreme and generally we don't tend to have much snow (although we do have a lot of ice!).

Most of us who do have a garden building that we use to socialise in in the summer end up using it for storage of our summer garden accessories in the winter but why not consider using it all year around?

If you are thinking about adding a log cabin to your garden then it is also worth considering roof and floor insulation so that come the winter months your building keeps cosy and retains heat. You could also consider adding an electrical point in your cabin so that a small heater can be added as well as other electrical elements such as a TV or radio.

The great thing about having a log cabin or summerhouse in your garden is the potential to make it a whole other room perfect for escaping to.

If you and your family prefer having your Christmas dinner at home why not have dinner in your Christmas Log Cabin? It would make the perfect backdrop for serving one of the most special meals of the year at your beautifully decorated table, complete with a view of the garden and no distractions from the house.

Winter nights could be spent snuggled up on comfortable furniture with plenty of winter throws and blankets drinking hot chocolate and whipped cream. For the ultimate winter experience you could even install a log burner in your cabin but be warned, you may never want to leave!

Just like in the summer months when your cabin doors are open and everything is bright and airy, your log cabin can act as the perfect place to host nights with friends or even just a casual catch up over a cuppa. Put away the summer accessories and pull out the winter comforts to give the cabin a contrasting look between seasons. You could even change up the soft furnishings so that there is a difference in decor between the warmer months and colder months.

There are plenty of Garden Storage Solutions should you decide you want to enjoy your log cabin all year round but require another place to keep garden furniture and equipment when not in use. Log cabins are a great investment and add not just style to your garden but value to your property too. It makes sense to enjoy them all year round and treat them like an additional room and extension of your living space.
